Who We Are & What We Believe
"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." - C.S. Lewis
We ARE
We LIVE
We are a non-denominational church in fellowship with Calvary Chapel. As a community of believers in Jesus Christ, we know and declare our need for Him for salvation (Romans 5:6-11), our worship of Him for His glory and goodness in creating us and everything that is (Colossians 1:15-18), and our resolve to obey Him as the King of kings and the Lord of lords (Romans 6:15-18. It is our desire to see the Body of Christ dwelling together in unity. (1 Corinthians 1:10). We believe that the true basis of fellowship is God’s unconditional, sacrificial, love. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers us to express that love to God and to one another. (John 13:35, 15:11-17).
We live out our faith in seeking God’s purpose for our lives, walking in obedience to His will (1 John 5:1-3), and sharing His love with others through service, kindness, and generosity (Romans 10:8-15). We yearn for Heaven and want to share with everyone the hope and assurance that we have found in Jesus and His redemptive work on the cross. (2 Corinthians 5:12-21).
We GROW
We LOVE
We grow in our knowledge of God and of His love for humanity through understanding His Holy Word, revealed to us through the inspired, inerrant, and inimitable scriptures in the Bible. (2 Timothy 3:16,17 & Hebrews 4:12) We grow through the power of the Holy Spirit living in us as He makes us aware of our weaknesses, helps us perceive the truth of who we are and who He is, equips us for every challenge that we face, and walks with us day by day and FOREVERMORE. (John 14:16,17 & John 16:5-15)
We love the amazing people and beautiful natural wonders of our community and fervently long to experience the adventure and abundant life that Jesus came to give those that follow Him. (John10:10) We love those who love Jesus AND we love those who haven't realized yet that Jesus gave His life to bring us back into relationship with God. (2 Corinthians 5:18,19) We love GOD, as He has first loved us, and given us the Holy Spirit to empower us to love like Jesus. (1 John 4:17-19)
We HOPE
We hope to see God's kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven (Matthew 6:9-13). We hope in God's goodness and redemption, not in the world's progress or our materialistic prosperity. (Philippians 3:17-21 & Matthew 16:24-26 & 1 Timothy 6:17-19). We hope in Heaven, looking to Eternity for our reward, knowing this world, and all that is in it, is passing away. (1 Peter 1:3-5 & 1 John 2:15-17
