MCF Communication
To the Church, the community of Mount Shasta, and surrounding neighbors in Siskiyou County.
We at Mountain Christian Fellowship are devastated by the grievous pain and suffering that has been caused by the egregious actions and subsequent arrest of one of our church leaders, Kevin Hughes.
On May 1st Kevin Hughes confessed to and was charged with three counts of child sexual abuse. He was immediately and permanently removed from leadership at our church.
There are not words to express the grief and sorrow we are experiencing for the victims and families, whose own overwhelming pain must pass imagining. We, as a church, are committed to fully cooperating with the investigation and pursuing transparency as it unfolds. We are trying to be full of care in our communications to not hinder or disrupt this ongoing investigation.
We are praying and pursuing steps to help prevent the possibility of a situation like this from occurring again.
If you have further questions or concerns that you would like to share, please contact the church at john@mcfshasta.com or at 530 926 6755. Our prayers are for those most devastated by this terrible tragedy, the victims and their families, and we hope that our community will seek on their behalf “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4.
